If you're seeing a pop-up ad in the lower righthand corner of your desktop, you may at some time in the past have told your browser to allow a website to show you notifications. Now the site's ads are popping up in the Windows notification area.
While these may look like ads (and since AdBlock blocks pop-ups, you may expect AdBlock to block them), they're actually site notifications, which means the only way to get rid of them is to change your Chrome settings. Disable Site Notifications in Chrome
- Click the Chrome menu (the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the Chrome window) and select Settings
- Under "Privacy and security" click Site Settings
- Under "Permissions" click Notifications
- Turn off notifications from any site you no longer want to see notifications from
