First, we assure you we did not get your credit card or PayPal account information by nefarious means. Second, we will never charge you without your consent. There are two reasons an unfamiliar payment might appear on your credit card or PayPal account.
The most common reason is that someone in the household paid for AdBlock without telling you. It might not even be intentional. Children with access to the computer and credit card or PayPal account credentials saved in the browser are a recipe for an accidental payment. (This happens a lot more often than you might expect.)
If you have confirmed that someone in your family did not pay for AdBlock, then your credit card or PayPal account may have been compromised. Thieves often charge a small amount on a random website to test whether a stolen credit card number or PayPal username and password are valid. We recommend you contact your credit card company or change your PayPal account password as soon as possible.
To request a refund of the unauthorized charge, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Put "refund request" in the subject line. Please provide the following information:
- The email address associated with your PayPal or credit card account
- The payment date
- The payment amount
- If you paid by credit or debit card, the last four digits of your card number
Please allow 7 to 10 business days for the refund to appear in your account.
If the unauthorized charge was made for the Mac app via Apple, you will need to reach out to them directly for a refund.
