How to provide your debugging information

If you're gathering your debugging information for troubleshooting purposes, please send us the following information in an email to help@getadblock.com or in a reply to our request for AdBlock's debugging information.


Chrome, Firefox, Edge

Here's how to gather your debugging information in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge: 

  1. Open the AdBlock menu (the AdBlock icon in the upper right-hand corner of your browser) and click the gear icon
  2. Open the Support tab
  3. Next to "Has our team requested some debug info?" click the Copy debug data button. A box opens with AdBlock's debugging information inside it and the data will automatically be copied to your clipboard.
  4. Return to your email and paste the debugging information into your message. To paste, right-click > Paste or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V (Windows)/Cmd + V (Mac)
  5. It's always helpful to attach a screenshot of the ad you are seeingHere's how to take a screenshot. Please be sure to include the URL/address bar and the AdBlock toolbar icon in the screenshot.


Mac App (Safari)

Here's how to gather your debugging information in the Safari Mac app:

  1. If the AdBlock app window is open, select AdBlock > About > View Debug Info. If the app window is closed, click the AdBlock icon in the MacOS menu bar and select About > View Debug Info. A box opens with AdBlock's debugging information inside it.
  2. Select the content in the box and copy it
  3. Return to your email and paste the debugging information
  4. It's always helpful to attach a screenshot of the entire screen on the web page where you're seeing ads (Here's how to take a screenshot and put it in your email). Please include the URL of the same page if possible.


Android (Samsung Internet)


Here's the information we'll need from the AdBlock for Samsung Internet app:

  • AdBlock's version number, found on the app info page in your device settings
  • Your device model, found in "About device" in your device settings
  • Which version of Android is running on it, found in "About device" in your device settings
  • Your browser and the version number, found on the app info page in your device settings
  • It's always helpful to attach a screenshot of the entire screen on the web page where you're seeing ads (Here's how to take a screenshot and put it in your email). Please include the URL of the same page if possible.


Android (Firefox)


Here's how to gather your debugging information from AdBlock for Android (Firefox): 

  1. Tap the Firefox menu, then tap AdBlock.
  2. The AdBlock menu page opens. Tap Options.
  3. Tap the AdBlock "hamburger" menu in the upper right corner of the page and tap SUPPORT.
  4. In the third sentence under "Found a bug?" tap the word here. A box opens with AdBlock's debugging information inside it.
  5. Select the content in the box and copy it
  6. Return to your email and paste the debugging information
  7. It's always helpful to attach a screenshot of the entire screen on the web page where you're seeing ads (Here's how to take a screenshot and put it in your email). Please include the URL of the same page if possible.


iOS (Safari)


Here's the information we'll need from AdBlock for iOS: 

  • The date your filter lists were last updated (open the AdBlock app)
  • AdBlock's version number (in the AdBlock app, select Settings > About)
  • Your device model, found in Settings > About
  • Which version of iOS is running on it, found in Settings > About (this is also the Safari version number)
  • It's always helpful to attach a screenshot of the entire screen on the web page where you're seeing ads (Here's how to take a screenshot and put it in your email). Please include the URL of the same page if possible.
