Can I use AdBlock and still allow ads on my favorite YouTube channels?

With AdBlock, you can easily whitelist your favorite YouTube channels in Chrome, Firefox (desktop and Android), and Microsoft Edge. YouTube channel whitelisting doesn't work with Safari Content Blocking, and is therefore not available in the AdBlock for Safari Mac app or AdBlock for Mobile (iOS). Additionally, since Samsung requires extensive permissions in order to allow YouTube whitelisting, it is not currently available in AdBlock for Samsung Internet.

Note:  You may not be able to skip ads on a whitelisted channel, depending on how the channel owner chooses to monetize their videos.

If you’re attempting to whitelist your favorite YouTube channel and don’t see the option in your AdBlock menu, check here for solutions.

Unblock All Ads on YouTube
Unblocking all ads on YouTube is as easy as two clicks. While on YouTube.com, click the AdBlock button and select Don't run on pages on this site. This will disable AdBlock while you’re on YouTube and allow ads to play on all YouTube channels.
Whitelist Specific YouTube Channels
To allow ads on specific YouTube channels, follow these steps:
  1. Click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar and select the gear icon to open the Options page.
  2. On the General Options tab, select Allow whitelisting of specific YouTube channels. (Not seeing this?)
  3. Restart your browser or refresh the current page.
  4. Visit a YouTube channel or a video in that channel.
  5. Click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar and select Whitelist (name) channel. (Not seeing this?)
If you change your mind, you can remove a whitelisted YouTube channel any time. Just visit the channel page, click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar, and select Enable AdBlock on this page. (Animation somewhere in here)
Edge or Firefox: Whitelist All Subscribed YouTube Channels
If you use Microsoft Edge or Firefox, you can automatically whitelist every YouTube channel you've subscribed to. (We hope to add this feature to AdBlock for Chrome in a future release.)
  1. Click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar and select the gear icon to open the Options page.
  2. On the General Options tab, select Allow whitelisting of specific YouTube channels. (Not seeing this?)
  3. Restart your browser or refresh the current page.
  4. Sign in to your YouTube account and visit https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions.
  5. Click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar and select Whitelist all subscribed YouTube channels. (Not seeing this?)
