"Whitelisting" is the process by which ads are allowed to appear on a web page you visit. "Blacklisting" is how ads are blocked or hidden. Both whitelisting and blacklisting are accomplished by filter rules that tell an ad blocker how to recognize an ad. The filter lists that all ad blockers use are simply collections of several thousand filter rules. Filter lists can be used to whitelist or to blacklist.

There are several ways to manually whitelist a web page or site.

If you whitelisted a page or an entire website

Start blocking ads again on a page or website you whitelisted

If you whitelisted a page or a website but no longer want to allow ads there, click the AdBlock button and select Enable AdBlock on this page.

Alternatively:

  1. Click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar and select Options. On the CUSTOMIZE tab, next to "Manually edit your filters" click Edit.
  2. Whitelist rules start with @@. Delete the whitelist rule(s) containing the name of the website.
  3. Click Save and reload the page.

Disable whitelisting on one site that is whitelisted by a filter list
