How do I manually update my filter lists?

The filter lists you are subscribed to are updated automatically on a schedule set by the list authors. AdBlock will try to fetch the updated files from the servers where they live as long as your browser is open and AdBlock is enabled and running. AdBlock will also try to fetch updates when you open your browser. If a web page suddenly isn't working or doesn't look right, it might be caused by a broken filter in a recent list update. If you're seeing ads, your filter lists might be out of date. In either case, making sure you have the most recent filter lists is a good first step in troubleshooting.


Chrome
  1. Click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar, then select Options
  2. On the FILTER LISTS tab, click update now
  3. Wait for all the lists to update
  4. Optional: Restart your computer
Firefox
  1. Click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar, then select Options
  2. On the FILTER LISTS tab, click update now
  3. Wait for all the lists to update
  4. Optional: Restart your computer
Edge
  1. Click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar, then select Options

  1. If AdBlock is open, click the AdBlock icon in the MacOS menu bar and select Update Filter Lists

  1. If AdBlock is not running, click the AdBlock icon in the Dock or Launchpad to open the app
  2. Click the Filter Lists tab, then click Update Filter Lists
  3. Optional: Restart your device
iOS
  1. Open AdBlock and click Update Filter Lists

Android

Firefox (Android)

  1. Tap the Firefox menu (the three vertical dots in the upper right corner) and select AdBlock at the bottom of the menu
  2. Tap Options
  3. Tap the AdBlock menu (the three stacked horizontal lines in the upper right corner) and select FILTER LISTS
  4. Tap update now
  5. Wait for all the lists to update
  6. Optional: Restart your device

Samsung Internet (Android)

  1. Open the AdBlock app and tap Update subscriptions.
  2. Give the filter lists a few moments to update
  3. Optional: Restart your device
