It would be great if AdBlock will stop blocking ads in the sites such a bit.ly, shorte.st etc. If you click at this link you have to wait a few seconds. Ads don't disturbs on that sites.
Whether AdBlock is blocking ads on links shortened by those sites or on the sites themselves, you can whitelist the domains so that the ads will appear. Or are you referring to something different?
The only issue is that some filter-lists will block variants of ad-sponsored link-shortening sites with alternative domain names, and I then need to whitelist scripts from those domains just to get the countdown timers to work; I can still block the ads that appear below those timers, which (at least in my experience) do disturb the user.
